As I indicated in Chapter 1 of my book “The Reid Method”, to realise true success, you must jump in with both feet, fully commitment while maintaining a constant growth mindset.
Here are 5 commitment tips to help you dominate sales instead of competing:
Commit to Action; learn more about the value characteristics and proposition of your products, services, and company. Too often sales reps focus heavily on features and benefits but know little about their company’s philosophy or story.·
Commit to Constant Personal Development. Sharpen your mind to remain ahead of, your well-informed clientele, and your evolving competition.· Commit to serving others and exceeding expectations instead of financial gain. Clients will see clearly if you are only in it for yourself. They will quickly figure out your body language and tonality are incongruent.·
Commit to providing solutions, instead of a selling.You are the professional and should be making suggestions and crafting various convenient, value laden recommendations after you have listened to your client. Customers are shopping for the salesperson that is engaging, not the order taker or negotiator who gives away the farm to get a deal. Customers appreciate solutions providers who offers alternatives and is not afraid to make recommendations! ·
Commit to delivering unbelievable experiences; I am not impressed by 5-star reviews that hype how great the deal was, I am more moved by reviews describing positive impact on one’s life. It is not only what you have done, but how you make them feel that leaves lasting impressions.·
Commit to adding more value than anyone else! Value is perceived and is not a one size fits all concept. There’s value in, communication, listening, offering alternatives, and creating solutions. It is also important to understand the value proposition in your company’s philosophy to articulate the full package of benefits and experiences ahead for your customers.
This approach builds lasting loyalty and a constant pipeline of clients and referrals. The result, a successful sales career, not just another job.
