IMPROVING SALES STRATEGY DURING CHALENGING TIMES

As we scan across the globe today there’s no question that we’re in challenging times and for the most part we don’t know for how long.  

Businesses and organisations that enjoyed a pre-covid sales model by now have had to make several major changes or pivots to stay afloat.  There’s no quick fix, but most companies can look at the following areas to answer some key questions on how well they may fair for Q3, Q4 and beyond.

Here are some key areas of focus for sustainability for 2021 and beyond.

  1. Understanding and Overcoming New Challenges.  This is vital but many companies fail here because they haven’t evaluated in fact what the key issues are. Is it personal, products, manufacturing, safety concerns, suppliers, finance issues among all the usual suspects we face with the pandemic?

  2. Utilizing the Right Tools to Increase Sales Productivity. When issues are identified and lower sales numbers are realized, then what? Increasing sales white increasing profitability is a fine line so having the right strategy, assigning the right people, and deciding your vital areas can prove invaluable. Having the “right people on the bus with the right mindset” according to Jim Collins is Key! This is where invaluable ideas are formed that could transform your organisation.

  3. Maintaining Relationships Online. So, you haven’t seen most of your clients in person for how long? You’re not alone and I know you’re sick of the online calls. It’s vital that you maintain these relationships in a meaningful way but first you must take care of you. Make sure that you take care of yourself by engaging in activities that keep you motivated and in line with expectations.

  4. Evaluating Your New Ideal Customer Base. Now that you realize that you’re not the problem, it’s important to evaluate your new ideal customer. They too have changed given the new dynamics of the relationship and circumstances however, these new dynamic’s and presumes challenges are where the big opportunities lie.

With all said its crucial to deep dive into what strategies can work for you and your business and that starts on the inside mainly with your people.  

Take care of your people, they will take care of your customers, and that will take care of you!
