1. Who is Melissa R. Williams?
I like to think that I’m every woman. I’m a mom, a wife, a minister, an entrepreneur, an activist, a speaker, a consultant, a strategist…just to name a few hats I wear.
I like to take on new personal challenges and reach for greatness in everything I embark on.
2. Please tell us what being a business owner means to you and why you became an entrepreneur in the first place?
Entrepreneurship is in my blood. It chose me, I didn’t choose it. All I saw was entrepreneurs growing up in Chicago. My grandfather owned several markets, my aunt owns a beauty salon, my mother had several businesses…she owned a janitorial service, was a realtor, a nail tech, etc….
I didn’t know any other way. While most may have seen their parents work a 9-5 for many years, I saw mine building businesses.
Being a business owner to me means freedom. I love that I can make my own hours and my office is anywhere in the world. I love that I can be sitting on the beach, watching my children play, while working from my phone or laptop.
3. Who has been your greatest influence in business and why?
My mother. As I mentioned earlier, I watched her fight for freedom as an entrepreneur all my life while raising my sister & I to be great people. Her strength, boldness, courage and resilience inspires me daily.
4. What are three different strategies you would like to share with small business owners to increase their bottom line?
a. Passion + Purpose = Profit
If you passionately chase your purpose, the profit will come. So many people waste time and are ineffective business owners because they are chasing what they think will make money instead of chasing what they were put here to do.
b. There is a difference between being busy and being productive. You waste time doing the small things and have no time left for the big ones. If it doesn’t increase your bottom line why are you spending all day doing it?
c. Business process automation is key. Find the right software & tools, hire a team ASAP
5. Melissa R. Williams, you are the CEO of Recherche’ Enterprises. Please tell readers more about your company?
Recherche’ Enterprises is a multi-million dollar conglomerate of four flourishing corporations:
a. Recherche’ Properties LLC – a real estate investment firm
b. CurtaTruck Logistics – an intrastate trucking company
c. Recherche’ Premier Events – a luxury event planning firm
d. Tyme Transportation LLC - an interstate trucking company
6. What are some strategies you would like to give to readers who are looking to grow in the TV/Radio Industry?
Now that’s an interesting question lol. I never planned on TV/Radio being a part of my experience. It kinda just happened. I think if you just do good in your craft, exposure through various forms of media will come.
I would appear on radio stations as a guest doing the “motivational moment” and then that grew into me being scouted to host a radio show of my own on 99.9 The Beat. Television was the same. Shows are looking for interesting stories and/or people. I was invited to a casting for a docuseries, traveled there and attended the audition. The rest was history.
7. What are some strategies you would give to readers who are looking to build multi-million dollar empires like yourself?
This life isn’t for everybody. It’s a large deal of stress and disappointments. If you really feel like it’s for you….buckle your seatbelt and get to work. Understand that in the beginning, in the building phase, you will work longer & harder than you ever have on anybody’s job. 12-16+ hour days are normal. Birthing a business is like birthing a baby. Birthing an empire is like birthing multiples, high risk lol.
I don’t say these things to scare anyone off but I genuinely think most people aren’t successful because they underestimate the level of time, work & commitment involved. So I just want to convey that as the number one, most important strategy. Understand what it takes and refuse to give up.

About Melissa R. Williams
Growing up on the mean streets of Chicago, Speaker Melissa “Lissa Rose” Williams, knows adversity first hand. After enduring the death of her father to a vehicular accident and later being sexually abused at the age of 9, Melissa used school as a coping mechanism.
Always a scholar that loved to read and write, Melissa joined every extracurricular activity the school offered, while maintaining straight A’s.
Her accomplishments include being inducted into the National Junior Beta Club, serving as Clarinet Section Leader in the Marching Band, winning the F.A. Douglass Academy Spelling Bee, Science Fair, and Academic Bowl. She finished out as the Salutatorian of the class.
As an adult, Melissa battled homelessness and domestic violence, while going on to pursue degrees in Education from Western Governors University, Business from Kaplan University, and Nursing from Gwinnett Technical College.
In 2006, Melissa was ordained as a minister. She served congregations in Tennessee, Georgia and most recently as the Women’s Pastor with Life Church Dallas/Ft Worth Texas.
Since 2001, Melissa has worked as a Motivational Speaker. She has been invited to speak for Educated Girls Rock, The Salvation Army, The Phenomenal “I AM” Women’s Conference, I am H.E.R. International Ministries, and many other organizations/corporations.
Melissa appeared on the hit television show, “Women on the Rise Atlanta”. Pastor Melissa is the former host of 99.9 The Beat’s “Workday Wind Down”. She is a recurring guest on Nashville’s 92Q FM, has spoken alongside rapper David Banner during his GodBox Lecture Series, and served on the political campaigns for Latarsha Holden for Atlanta Councilwoman District 11, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Stacy Abrams for Georgia Governor.
Melissa is an entrepreneurial powerhouse as the founder and CEO of Recherche' Enterprises, a multi-million dollar empire that's home to 4 different corporations. Due to her success in the business industry, she works as a entrepreneurial coach/strategist, hosting classes and workshops to assist those interested in her expertise to build their own empires.
Speaker Melissa R Williams currently resides in Dallas, TX. Out of all her accomplishments her most prized is her role as wife and mother to six children (Ate’sia 21, Isaac 18, Alana 14, Aniyah 12, Adina 11, Aubriella 6).
