Visionary of WinHers United

1.     Who is Nicole Walker?

Nicole Walker is a multifaceted woman. I like to sum it up by saying I am a Mother, Business Woman, and Leader. I love to travel, I’m adventurous, and I make it my business to laugh and enjoy life. I am a great friend and supporter of people. I am a creative, which has proven to be a gift and a curse because creatives tend to be all of the place at times. Ironically, I was a late bloomer in understanding who I am, and embracing the gifts that I have. I had a low self-worth for many years. I placed myself around people that didn’t bring out the best in me, and put myself in situations where I did not belong. One of my saving graces has been creating WinHers United, which I often say “teleported me to a different realm”. Before WinHers United I was not completely aware of all the amazing people of color doing amazing things. For one of the first times in my life I felt as if I belonged, and was challenged to be and do better.

2.     Please tell us what being a business owner means to you and why you became an entrepreneur in the first place?

Being a business owner means freedom and liberty which is something I longed for, for a long time. I decided to become an entrepreneur because I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I felt undervalued and underappreciated in my corporate career. One day I told myself this can’t be life, then I embarked on a mission to create a life that was more fulfilling.

3.     Who has been your greatest influence in business and why?

I would be remiss if I did not say that every woman that has been a guest on WinHers United the podcast has influenced me in one way, shape or form. But, since I have to pick just one person I will give this accolade to the person I call my podcast mentor, Chris Krimitsos. I choose Chris because he was the person to confirm my direction with WinHers United, and provide the knowledge I needed to walk forward in this area. What I admire most about Chris is that he has cultivated a large and loyal community of people that believe in his mission and support his efforts. Another thing I admire about Chris is that he remembers everyone’s name even after meeting them just one time. I am extremely impressed by this because I do not have this gift. The latest thing Chris did to solidify himself as my greatest influence was to choose me for a leadership role during his first virtual summit, which ended up receiving a Guinness World Record. Taking on this role reminded me of how much I love planning events, and thus helped to birth the upcoming WinHers United Virtual Summit.

4.     Congratulations!!! on your conference WinHers United Virtual Summit please tell readers more about the conference and how they can purchase tickets?

The WinHers United Virtual Summit is a 2-4 day event that focuses on a holistic approach to entrepreneurship because we are whole beings with many moving parts. One thing I have learned over the last three years that really stuck out to me is how much mindset, personal development, and self-care relate to being a successful entrepreneur. For this reason the WinHers United Virtual Summit focuses on these three areas in addition to providing business insight and expertise. I want the attendees of the WinHers United Virtual Summit to be successfully well rounded, and have done my best to ensure this is so by adding topics that focus on our four pillars of business, mindset, personal development, and self-care. For tickets visit http://www.winhersunited.com/events.

5.     Please tell readers more about your podcast WinHers United and how they can listen and be a guest?

In 2018 I had a vision. I wanted to amplify the voices of Women of Color entrepreneurs and show the world that we are leaders who have valuable information to share. Making this dream come true began on March 1, 2018 with the launch of WinHers United the podcast. Since March 1, 2018 I have interviewed 108 Women of Color entrepreneurs and provided a platform for these ladies to shine. To date WinHers United has been listened to in 96 countries across the globe and has received over 23,500 downloads.

I chose to highlight Women of Color Entrepreneurs to be a representation for the underrepresented because Women of Color have a double systematic disadvantage. My goal with WinHers United is to give people the clues they need to be successful in life and entrepreneurship. I believe success leaves clues and we shouldn’t have to reinvent the wheel when others have already paved the way.

6.     Nicole, please share with readers some strategies on how to grow their podcast globally?

I would say the main strategy I used to grow WinHers United globally was consistency and producing quality content. These two things are very fundamental, yet they go a long way. Another strategy has been to connect with my target audience via Facebook Groups and be sure to spread awareness about the podcast by posting when the opportunity presents itself. It is not as hard as it may seem, it just takes commitment and diligence.
